High school students won the BEST PROTOTYPE AWARD in a week-long hackathon, entitled Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges. Tempest Dime, Arianna Mangilin, and Bea Veloso were recognized for their ‘Awearness’ app, a sustainable fashion platform, at the event hosted by Accenture Philippines at the Philippine Innovation Hub in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City on February 4-11, 2023. The objective was to encourage young girls to clearly identify and define a problem statement related to climate change, education, or agriculture, pitch solutions via research to address it, and present a concept and/or even a rapid and rough prototype to a group of judges during the face-to-face culminating day.
