Congratulations to the Junior Division Team composed of TONI GOLEZ, SOFIA GUTIERREZ, KASSEY ONG, and MARIANA MILLER for winning the Best Prototype Award at the Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges Hackathon Year 3! This award recognizes the most functional and well-designed prototype with the potential to become a full product.
The team focused on Responsible AI, spending three weeks researching, prototyping, and presenting their pitch. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, they were named one of the five finalists. Their project, A.L.E.R.T. (Authentic and Legitimate Evaluation of Real Artworks and Truth), helps distinguish AI-generated content from real human art. As Sofia shares, “With A.L.E.R.T., we are not just detecting AI—we’re recognizing artists and supporting their dreams!”
