Last month, the Woodrose Model United Nations proudly hosted its inaugural conference, guided by the theme “Duc Ad Veritatem: Leading Towards Truth, Peace, and Justice through Contemporary Diplomacy.”
The event also welcomed Hon. Vice Mayor Stephanie Teves-Wong, who spoke on youth empowerment and the importance of stepping into leadership roles early. She underscored that values such as integrity, honesty, and accountability must guide us, regardless of title or position.
Delegates from various schools brought insight, energy, and diverse perspectives to the conference. Across four committees—UNCSW, UNESCAP, CCPCJ, and HFCC—participants demonstrated diplomacy, critical thinking, and meaningful collaboration. Over two days of debate, negotiation, and resolution-writing, everyone truly embodied the spirit of diplomacy, proving that even in simulation, the pursuit of truth, peace, and justice remains vital.
Here’s to a strong beginning and to many more opportunities for young leaders to engage, lead, and help shape the future.
