Our high school student organization, Animal Welfare Alliance (AWA), visited the Pawssion Project Bulacan Shelter last month. The members, together with their moderator and chaperones, were warmly welcomed by the caretakers and over 200 friendly rescue dogs. They toured the open shelter with its cozy bahay-kubos, listened to the dogs’ rescue stories, and learned about the dedicated work that keeps the shelter running.
Students also helped prepare the dogs’ lunch and donated forty kilos of dog food, rice, and pet pads to support the shelter’s daily needs. Overall, the trip was a joyful yet eye-opening experience that deepened their understanding of animal welfare and it reminded everyone of the compassion and responsibility we owe to all living beings as faithful stewards of God’s creation.
