Congratulations to the WOODROSE CHORALE for successfully representing our school at the 2025 Palawan International Choral Festival held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan from August 13-16, 2025!
Led by their conductor, Mrs. Myrene “Boots” Carballo, 31 students from Grades 7–12 bagged the following honors:
- 2nd Runner-up in the prestigious Grand Prix Competition
- Gold Diploma Awardee and Champion of the Equal Voices Category
- Gold Diploma Awardee and Champion of the Traditional Folklore Category
- Gold Diploma Awardee in the Sacred Music Category
- People’s Choice Awardee
The festival featured an international jury and panel of experts and 16 participating choirs, with the Chorale going up against 4 other finalists, mainly adult choirs. The Chorale members were also fortunate to attend two days of dynamic master classes and workshops, learning valuable lessons in the theory and artistry of choral singing from international conductors.
Through the votes they earned to win the People’s Choice Award (also known as Philanthropy Prize), the Chorale helped raise funds for member associations of the National Association of Filipino Choirs, Inc (NAFCI)–the organizer of the festival.
