7-year old Marga won the following:
First Place in Freestyle 1
First Place in Artistic Freestyle 1
Second Place in Figures 1
Third Place in Solo Compulsories Freestyle 1
.
“I joined figure skating because it is fun. It is like ballet on ice. I can stroke, jump, and spin on the ice with my favorite music wearing nice, sparkly, and beautiful costumes. The best part of joining Skate Asia 2018 for me is meeting new friends and competing in another country. I love doing the Freestyle 1 Technical event. I have been skating for 2 years. And it is my first time to join an international competition like Skate Asia.”

10-year old Myriam won the following:
First Place in Figures 2
Second Place in Artistic Freestyle 3
Second Place in Jump & Spin Bronze
Third Place in Solo Compulsories Freestyle 3
Sixth Place in Freestyle 3
“I joined figure skating because it is a unique kind of sport. I wanted to learn how to jump and spin on the ice. It feels good and great when I skate on the ice. For me, the best part of joining Skate Asia 2018 is meeting new friends from other countries. I was able to show my best during the competition. I realized that even if we come from a tropical country, we Filipinos can skate well. I realized also that I have to train and work harder. I have been skating for 6 years with 2 long stops in between because my mom gave birth to my siblings and no one had to take me to the skating rink. This is my first time to join a competition outside of the Philippines. Skate Asia 2018 is an awesome experience for me.”
