Two high school student groups, Bata Batuta and Harayang Pinoy, recognized the need to extend help also to other front liners, like traffic enforcers, police, and security guards, in the fight against COVID-19.
The two groups teamed up to put together 150 meals and 20 grocery bags. They also prepared notecards and letters of gratitude and encouragement for their beneficiaries. Distribution was made possible with the help of the husband of their club moderator, TCIII Carlos Palatino of MMDA Alabang . On April 18, he personally picked up and delivered the food packs to the front liners and their families living in Barangay Putatan, a nearby community in Muntinlupa.
For these students, “front liners show us that there is still good in this world, that love exists, that hope can be restored, problems can be overcome, and that the world is still a beautiful place with people like them. Thank you to everyone who supported this project and of course our dear front liners, our heroes.”
