An exciting week lies ahead as many activities are lined up for the SHS Academic Week. These include giving students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, showcase their artistic talents, learn responsible use of social media, be updated on current political issues, and have a better understanding of challenges in the social landscape.
On the first day, March 12, Senior High School students opened the “Entrep Fair” in the Promenade. They set up booths to sell their products as part of their class on entrepreneurship. Their offerings included food such as sandwiches, dips, drinks, cookies, cookie dough; and novelty items such as candles, t-shirts, earrings, pajamas, and hand soap.
Later in the day, students listened to a talk regarding the “Issues on the West Philippine Sea” by Department of Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Maria Andrelita S. Austria.
In the coming days, students will attend talks on “Challenges Faced by the Family” to be given by Vanessa Valdez, a Woodrose alumna who is a multi-awarded film writer and producer, “Think Before You Click,” a symposium on social media to be given by Dr. Francine Calero-Racho, another alumna who is the Vice Dean of the School of Communication at the University of Asia & the Pacific, and a talk on “Kasaysayan, Kabayanihan, Kabataan” by Professor Alvin Kampomanes from the University of the Philippines.
