Stephanie Sy, our former student and now a Canada-based author, returned to Woodrose for a special read-aloud session of her debut picture book, A Roof!
Grade schoolers were captivated by the heartwarming story of Maya, a young girl in the Philippines who discovers a roof in her backyard after a typhoon—with an address on it! Determined to return it, she embarks on a journey with her tatay and their community, embodying the true spirit of bayanihan as they rebuild together.
With vivid storytelling by Stephanie and stunning illustrations by Daniel Tingcungco, A Roof! is a beautiful celebration of resilience, kindness, and community care.
