History

Woodrose is the very first school established by Parents for Education Foundation (PAREF) with the aim to provide high academic standards supported by intensive character formation rooted in Christian values.

Founded on December 6, 1976, the all-girls school opened its first academic year in a large, two-storey house located at the corner of 4th and Gilmore Streets in New Manila, Quezon City in June 1977. Initially, the School had 76 students ranging from Grades 1 to 5, with Luisa Lorenzo as the first Directress. A higher level was added each school year until the first batch of Fourth Year high school students graduated in 1984.

In 1981, Woodrose transferred to its present permanent location on Acacia Avenue, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City, following the donation to PAREF of a two-hectare lot from Ayala Corporation made possible by Don Enrique Jacobo Emilio Olgado Zobel.

In 2016, Woodrose created the Senior High School, following the implementation of the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum by the Department of Education (DepEd). The first batch of Grade 12 students graduated in 2018.

Over the years, Woodrose has gained recognition as one of the best private schools for girls in the country. It has garnered numerous awards in inter-school competitions for debate, writing, math, art, music, and sports. Our students consistently place among the annual search of the city government for the Ten Most Outstanding Students of Muntinlupa (MOST). Graduates enter top local and international universities; and many continue to pursue graduate and post-graduate studies thereafter. Our alumnae have shown academic prominence as well as competence in their chosen professions.  Moreover, they have exercised concern for the social and moral welfare of various sectors in society through outreach activities and other service oriented projects.

PAREF Woodrose School is recognized and approved by the Department of Education. In 2002, the School was named a Center of Excellence in Sports and the Arts by the City Government of Muntinlupa.   Woodrose obtained its full accreditation status from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) in May 2006 and was re-accredited in 2010, 2016 and 2022. Woodrose also received the title of School of Character by Character Education Partnership and Character.Org in 2022.
