Art for Everyone

Congratulations to Tammy dela Fuente, Grade 12 student, whose digital portraits have been included in the ongoing exhibit, entitled Art for Everyone, at the SM Mall of Asia. The event hopes “to promote professionally curated visual artwork by students” from different schools in the country and “to provide young artists meaningful opportunities to help them grow professionally and creatively.”

Reprinted below is a write up about Tammy:

Tamiya dela Fuente is a young 17-year old artist who excels in painting faces and portraits digitally. She also paints traditionally from time to time. When she was 14 and 15 years old, she won 3rd place and 1st place, respectively, in two on-the-spot painting contests held at De La Salle Zobel School, entitled “Peace of Art.” This was participated in by high school students from both public and private schools of Muntinlupa, Paranaque, and Las Pinas. She had the privilege to be part of a group exhibit of budding young artists at age 15 (she was the youngest in the group). This exhibit was held at Museo Orlina in September 2015. It was entitled “Tagaytay Artbeat.” Here, she showcased three of her artworks, all portraits of her classmates done digitally, entitled: “Mestiza,” “Morena,” and “Chinita.” Her work was also chosen to be part of Graphika Manila’s book entitled “Black Flood 2” (a compilation of black and white artworks). In July 2016, she was featured in a website called “Sparks of Creativity.” Here, she was interviewed as “Artist of the Week.” In this interview, she was able to tell how she started in art, and how she would like to inspire young artists like her to continue doing their passion and at the same time enjoying life as millennials!

Tamiya wishes to take up Fine Arts or Chemistry (or both) in college.

Come and see the works of Tammy. The show runs from August 23 to 27, 2017 during mall hours.
