The Woodrose Core Values serve as guiding principles to align oneself to the School’s Mission and Vision. They describe ethical ideas that form the basis of good character which our students, parents, faculty, and staff aspire toward. They inform our school’s policies, practices and daily interactions, creating a positive climate that is conducive for the flourishing of the community as well as the individual, especially the student.

Love for the Truth
Love for the truth is a primary aspect of education and, consequently, growth in virtue and character. It is manifested by desiring to seek, to know, and to love the deepest truth about oneself, others, and God which is necessary for one to lead an authentic human life based on solid Christian ideals.

A Woodrose student immerses herself in learning as a means to lead towards the truth. She fosters a spirit of respect and open-mindedness in healthy interaction and dialogue. She maintains personal integrity and adheres to moral and ethical values, defending against post-truths and moral relativism.

Order & Hard Work
Hard work is the determination to diligently and ethically accomplish tasks, achieve goals, and produce quality outcomes.

Order is the habitual and firm disposition to do the good. (source: CCC part 3) As St. Josemaría Escrivá wrote in The Forge #806, “Order will bring harmony to your life and lead you to perseverance. Order will give peace to your heart, and dignity to your composure.”

A Woodrose student is the protagonist of her own learning. She is mindful of her priorities, takes personal responsibility for completing her tasks, and is conscientious in submitting quality output. She recognizes the value of work done well as a means to encounter Christ.

Optimism & Cheerfulness
To live with optimism and cheerfulness is to view life with gratitude, to see difficulties as opportunities to do better and be better, and to be rooted in the true hope who is God.

A Woodrose student has a positive attitude and a growth mindset. She is hopeful and resilient when faced with difficult moments and setbacks. She accepts positive and negative experiences as occasions for improvement and success.

Service To God & Others
To live a life of service stems from the genuine desire to help others out of love for God, without expecting anything in return. By initiating worthwhile undertakings and striving to make a difference in the lives of others, one finds meaning, purpose, and fulfillment.

A Woodrose student seeks to know more about God and cultivates a personal relationship with Him. She leads a Christ-centered life and uses her gifts to serve others with authenticity, empathy, and compassion.
