As the COVID19 pandemic continues to take its hold, many have felt tremendous uncertainty about what lies ahead. Despite this, Woodrose alumna, Dr. Nicole Perreras (Batch 2000), reminds us that anyone, regardless of age, is called to be of service through acts of kindness.
Dr. Perreras, together with her co-pediatricians, Dr. Tricia Subido and another Woodrose alumna, Dr. Jamie Isip (Batch 1997), was behind the greeting card initiative. Upon learning that many parents were looking for activities to keep their children engaged, the three doctors thought of asking the children to create get well soon cards for the COVID patients who might be feeling lonely and afraid in their isolation rooms. What started as a small project snowballed into a community-wide activity that was even featured in national daily newspapers and media posts. A true testament that the effort of a few can inspire others to do good too.
On behalf of her RITM team, Dr. Perreras sincerely expressed their gratitude to everyone who sent cards and offered prayers. All efforts, no matter how big or small are deeply appreciated.
