Please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Ms. Teresita Eugenio. She served in Woodrose from 1979 to 2008 as a tutor (now called mentor), as a Religion, History, and Economics Teacher, and as a High School Level Coordinator. Always smiling, kind, and cheerful, she was beloved by her tutees (or mentees), students, and colleagues.
Upon learning about her passing, her former students soon shared some of their fondest memories of Ms. Eugenio:
She gave so much of herself to Woodrose girls. She was always warm and cheerful…and patient! She was gentle even when she’d reprimand. – Marissa
She loved to make history feel like it just happened, like when she acted out how the feudal lord appoints the knight. – Leah
Ms. Eugenio was inspirational in my choice of subject to teach. Plus, Ms. Eugenio was a caring person. – Pia
I learned about the “busy goats” from Ms. Eugenio. It was her way of saying Visigoths. So, we would say, “Miss, what about the lazy goats?” She took the ribbing very well. She was my tutor for some time and she was genuinely caring. She made you feel like you and all your teenage angst mattered. – Bubbles
She had that big round laugh! – Anna
I loved her timelines in History class. – Angelette
When she would see us with long nails, she would say, “You little draculitas.” – Marisa
Or when she would see us with our blue ribbons untied, she would say with so much kindness and gentleness “Do it for the holy souls in purgatory.” – Mylene
And also “Don’t complain that it’s hot. It’s hotter in hell.” – Sansan
Ms. Eugenio will forever be remembered for her kindness and loving advice. – Marianne
