Two Woodrose student service organizations – Bata Batuta and Puso – partnered with Narra Nueva Center for a 2-day Christmas outreach held on December 16-17, 2022. They interacted with children from Alabang, Sitio Rizal, Putatan, and Patdu Compound and taught them about Jesus, emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas and the reason why we celebrate it.
“Anong regalo ang kaya mong ibigay sa iyong kapwa na hindi materyal?” was one of the questions posed to the children. Their responses included “pakikipagkapwa, paggalang, pagmamahal, pagbibigayan, and panalangin.”
Through the annual Bata Bake Sale of Bata Batuta members held on November 19, they were able to raise enough funds to provide 70 Noche Buena packages for 70 families from the community. In their own simple ways, the students have shared the joyful message of Christmas that the love of God is for all people.
St. Josemaria once remarked, “Do everything for Love. There will be no little things: everything will be large. Perseverance in little things for Love is heroism.”
