Parents, teachers and guests had a lovely evening catching up face-to-face at the Thanksgiving Dinner organized for Parent Coordinators (PCs) last April 21, 2022. It was also a great opportunity to recognize the PCs whose key role is to promote Home-School Collaboration in the community. The theme of the night was “GEMSahabnida” a play of the Korean word for thank you and the role of the PCs as the school’s gems or treasure.
The school acknowledges their countless efforts in various endeavors, including the Mission Christmas Medical Outreach by Batch 2022; the Community Pantry for the Woodrose Auxiliary Staff by Batches 2023 and 2025; Family Rosary through Gifted-to-Give Project by Batch 2027; material contributions for the set up of the Grade 12 Hybrid classes, marketing and fundraising assistance for international webinars, Middle Childhood Courses and Parenting Teen Courses and ultimately, for their unwavering and wholehearted support!
In her response on behalf of the Grade 12 PCs, Dr. Ivy Amante said, “Thank you Woodrose for being a wonderful parenting school. When people say there is no school for parents, I will object and say there is! Thank you Woodrose for all the parenting seminars, talks, and activities that have truly helped us become better people, and thus better parents.”
Woodrose adheres to the core principle that parents are the primary character educators of their children. Parents recognize this role and actively participate in the continuous formation of their children and of themselves as parents. They value the teachers as their partners in their children’s integral formation, and they demonstrate initiative, generosity, and constancy in all the aspects where parental involvement is essential. Thus, they contribute to an effective home-school collaboration.
We thank all the Parent Coordinators from the bottom of our hearts and we look forward to more collaborations in the future!
