Re : ADVISORY on 2019-nCoV Acute Respiratory Disease

The first confirmed case of 2019-nCoV Acute Respiratory Disease in the Philippines was reported on January 30, 2020. As an addendum to our previous memo (CP-79-2019/2020) for the prevention of infection in our campus and our community, please be advised of the following:
For those with travel history to China (including Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) in the last 14 days, we would like to emphasize the advice of the Bureau of Quarantine:
- go on home-quarantine for 14 days
- monitor body temperature daily
- observe for any signs and symptoms of respiratory infection
- if symptoms develop while on home-quarantine, seek medical care immediately
- submit medical clearance from your family physician upon return to school
For those without travel history, but with fever and respiratory symptoms:
- stay home and seek medical care
- submit medical clearance from your family physician upon return to school
Extra measures that the school will observe to prevent infection:
- Thermal / temperature scanning will be imposed upon entry; those with fever will be sent home
- Those who develop fever in school will be kept in the clinic isolation room while waiting to be fetched
- Hand sanitizers are available in all classrooms, bathrooms, canteen, gates, and other common areas
- Holy Communion may be received by the hand
