Re : ADVISORY on 2019-nCoV Acute Respiratory Disease
Date : 31 January 2020

The first confirmed case of 2019-nCoV Acute Respiratory Disease in the Philippines was reported on January 30, 2020. As an addendum to our previous memo (CP-79-2019/2020) for the prevention of infection in our campus and our community, please be advised of the following:

For those with travel history to China (including Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) in the last 14 days, we would like to emphasize the advice of the Bureau of Quarantine:

  • go on home-quarantine for 14 days
  • monitor body temperature daily
  • observe for any signs and symptoms of respiratory infection
  • if symptoms develop while on home-quarantine, seek medical care immediately
  • submit medical clearance from your family physician upon return to school

For those without travel history, but with fever and respiratory symptoms:

  • stay home and seek medical care
  • submit medical clearance from your family physician upon return to school

Extra measures that the school will observe to prevent infection:

  • Thermal / temperature scanning will be imposed upon entry; those with fever will be sent home
  • Those who develop fever in school will be kept in the clinic isolation room while waiting to be fetched
  • Hand sanitizers are available in all classrooms, bathrooms, canteen, gates, and other common areas
  • Holy Communion may be received by the hand

For any concerns regarding 2019-nCoV, please feel free to contact our school clinic. You may also visit the website of the Department of Health for more information and updates.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
